Online magazine
Our online magazine accepts submissions on a rolling basis.
We accept fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and photo-essays in any Ghanaian language except English.
Simultaneous submissions are fine. All we ask is that you notify us when your work is accepted elsewhere.
Your submission should be sent as an attachment to info@writeghana.org. Email subject – ‘Title of Story – Language’.
In the body of the email, write a short biography of yourself, the title of the submission, language and links to any social media accounts to help promote your submission if published.
Suggested word count:
- Fiction and non-fiction: no more than 4000 words.
- Essays: no more than 1,500 words.
- Photo-essays: no more than 1,500 words.
- Poetry: 3 poems per submission.
If your submission is accepted, you will have to work with our editors to ensure the submission is up to standard for publishing.
You retain the copyright to your work. However, we require that you credit as the original publisher of the work.
E-anthologies
We regularly publish anthologies of poetry in different Ghanaian languages.
Check our website for updated calls and follow the same procedure for submissions in the online magazine. You can only submit up to 3 poems for the e-anthology.
